Over time, your web browser can become cluttered with cookies, cache, and other temporary files that slow down your browsing experience. Regularly cleaning your browser is essential to maintain its speed and functionality. Follow these steps to keep your browser in top shape.
Clearing Cookies and Cache
Cookies and cache help websites load faster by storing temporary data on your device. However, too many of these files can cause performance issues.
Google Chrome
- Open Chrome and click on the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down and click on Privacy and security.
- Click on Clear browsing data.
- Choose a time range and check the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
- Click Clear data.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open Firefox and click on the three lines in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Click on Privacy & Security in the left sidebar.
- Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section and click Clear Data.
- Check the boxes for Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content.
- Click Clear.
Safari
- Open Safari and click on Safari in the top-left corner.
- Select Preferences from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the Privacy tab.
- Click on Manage Website Data.
- Select Remove All and then click Remove Now.

Safari
- Open Safari and click on Safari in the top-left corner.
- Select Preferences.
- Click on the Extensions tab.
- Uncheck the box or select the extension and click Uninstall.
Regular Updates

Google Chrome
- Open Chrome and click on the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Hover over Help and select About Google Chrome.
- Chrome will automatically check for updates and install them if available.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open Firefox and click on the three lines in the top-right corner.
- Hover over Help and select About Firefox.
- Firefox will automatically check for updates and install them if available.
Safari
- Open the App Store on your Mac.
- Click on the Updates tab.
- Look for Safari updates and click on Update if available.
